Joined Robert Dyas in
2009
Describe your career to date including why you joined Robert Dyas:
I started my career in marketing at a leading health and beauty retailer, where I held a variety of roles, gaining experience in many aspects of retail marketing. After several years there and a role at another health and beauty retailer, it was time for a change and so I joined Robert Dyas. I applied for the job at Robert Dyas because I really liked the brand and knew I would be passionate about the products that they sell. Then, when I attended the interviews and met some of the team, I knew it was a place at which I’d like to work.
What does a typical day in your role involve?
A typical day in my role involves writing creative briefs, approving artwork, researching products, arranging product photography and dealing with PR enquiries. I’d also liaise with our creative and PR agencies, meet with the buying team to discuss marketing requirements and opportunities and plan forthcoming marketing activity.
What’s the best thing about working for Robert Dyas?
The best thing is the people, everyone is friendly and approachable. Being a relatively small team, we all pull together to make things happen and individually it means you can make a real impact. I also love the brand’s heritage, Robert Dyas has been around for more than a hundred years – few retailers can say that!
If you could compare yourself to a Robert Dyas product, what would you be and why?
I would be a battery (rechargeable of course!): small, full of energy and makes things happen!
