Describe your career to date including why you joined Robert Dyas:

I joined Robert Dyas in August 2006 as a Supervisor. After a short time I was promoted to the role of Assistant Manager of our Queen Street store before 18 months later being transferred to one of our largest stores in Tottenham Court Road where I gained valuable experience for a year prior to being part of the management team in a brand new store in Loughton, Essex. In 2009 i was selected for the Company's Assistant Manager development programme - an opportunity to expose me to all the necessary skills i'd require in order to become a Store Manager.  Having previously shopped at a couple of Robert Dyas stores I thought it would be an interesting place to work........I wasn't left disappointed!

What does a typical day in your role involve?

A typical day for me would start with discussing with my manager what I plan to do that day. Ensuring our staff are happy and giving them tasks to complete, making sure the shop floor is as full of merchandise as possible and making sure the customers are content, able to find the products they need and leave the shop happy.

What’s the best thing about working for Robert Dyas?

As proved by my own record, it is possible to progress within the company and I was fully supported by both my managers and district manager. It can also be a fun place to work and it gives me job satisfaction.

If you could compare yourself to a Robert Dyas product, what would you be and why?

Tefal One Cup, because I am hardworking, reliable, efficient, friendly to the environment and useful. I tend not to waste time and do the job required as quick as possible, which is what this product is manufactured to do.
